Manage Staff Groups
Administrators can manage staff groups. Staff Groups are used when setting up security for those users or staff that manage or view. review or approve the logs for selected staff.
The sync can create Staff Groups based on one of these setup lists in ProviderPro: Staff Groups (Best Practice), HR Managers, HR Directors or HR Groups. The ProviderPro employees that have that associated staff group, manager, director or group will be assigned to the corresponding Staff Group during the sync.
If each manager or director in the setup list has the correct employee linked to it, you can sync the Staff Group-Manager relationship.
If you prefer to associate staff directly to their manager or director instead of to a Staff Group, you can also sync that relationship. To do so, the ProviderPro employee needs to have a manager or director assigned and each ProviderPro manager or director must have the correct employee (manager) associated to them.
If you are syncing from the Staff Groups list, if an employee is the Staff Manager, Approve Log Manager, Review Log Manager or View Log Manager of a Staff Group, you can sync these from ProviderPro as well.
Do not add, delete or make changes to the staff group settings within Time Tracking if you sync from ProviderPro. The changes will be overwritten the next time the sync runs. Make all changes in ProviderPro. To make Staff Groups read-only in Time Tracking, turn on the Disable Synced Properties Default setting in Options.

Log in with your full login.

Select Setup from the menu.

Select Staff Groups on theDataPlus Setup card.

Select a staff group card from the list or enter a client group in the Search box to search for a specific staff group.
If you do not sync staff groups from ProviderPro, select Add to create a new one.

Complete the following information and select Save:
- Description: A description of the staff group.
- Active: Checking this box makes the staff group in use.

Select Add on the Staff card.

Select the staff you want to assign to the staff group and then click Save.

Select the minus sign next to staff to remove them from the staff group.
Select Yes in the confirmation pop-up to remove the staff member.

Select Add on the Managers card to select the staff that manage the staff in this staff group.

Select either Primary Managers or Department Managers and click Next.
- Primary Managers have direct responsibility for managing the staff in this staff group.

Department Managers are indirectly responsible for managing the staff in this staff group.

Select the managers you want to assign to the staff group and then click Save.Only staff that have the Staff: Manage Selected role will appear in the list.
You can change the Manager Type if needed.

Select the minus sign next to a manager to remove them from the staff group.
Select Yes in the confirmation pop-up to remove the staff member.

Select Add on the Viewers card to select the staff that can view the log entries for the staff in this staff group.

Select either Primary Managers or Department Managers and click Next.

Department Managers are indirectly responsible for viewing the log entries for the staff in this staff group.

Select the viewers you want to assign to the staff group and then click Save. Only staff that have the Logs: View Selected role appear in the list.
You can change the Manager Type if needed.

Select the minus sign next to a viewer to remove them from the staff group.
Select Yes in the confirmation pop-up to remove the viewer.

Select Add on the Reviewers card to select the staff that can review the log entries for the staff in this staff group.

Select either Primary Managers or Department Managers and click Next.

Department Managers are indirectly responsible for reviewing the log entries for the staff in this staff group.

Select the reviewers you want to assign to the staff group and then click Save. Only staff that have the Logs: Review Selected role will appear in the list.
You can change the Manager Type if needed.

Select Yes in the confirmation pop-up to remove the reviewer.

Select Add on the Approvers card to select the staff that can approve the log entries for the staff in this staff group.

Select either Primary Managers or Department Managers and click Next.

Select the approvers you want to assign to the staff group and then click Save. Only staff that have the Logs: Approve Selected role will appear in the list.
You can change the Manager Type if needed.

Select the minus sign next to an approver to remove them from the staff group.
Select Yes in the confirmation pop-up to remove the approver.
